HERF (High Energy Rate Forging) Hammers, formerly used to fabricate metal forgings for the US Department of Energy (DOE) Nuclear Weapons trigger systems, are available for sale.  HERF technology allows control of the microstructure, grainflow and mechanical properties. This process is highly repeatable and controlled through fire pressure, temperature and die control.  there are only 18 HERF Forging Hammers in the world and 12 are offered here.

Believe this or not the US Department of Energy has determined that these HERF Hammers are now excess property.  The American tax payers loss is your gain.
